Recently I headed to the bulk section of my local grocery store. This space is pretty neat. It has a variety of dried fruits, nuts and grains to choose from. While there I gathered some almonds, walnuts, dried pineapple, papaya, raisons, and cranberries. I like to mix them all together and create a trail mix.
Whether I’m out hiking or at the office, it’s a great item to have on hand during the day. The protein and fat from the nuts give me sustained energy and keep me full. The carbohydrates from the fruit satisfy my sweet craving and give me quick bursts of energy. The mix is also packed with Omega-3s, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and other micronutrients. It’s an incredible power food to have at any time of the day. Try it out!
