Designed for aspiring teachers, teachers, and dedicated students. Come to one session or come to all five! Each week will focus on a different group of standing poses. Enjoy standing poses? Standing postures can provide great strength in one’s body as well as giving one a strong sense of wellbeing in life. They also offer opportunity to realign one's feet, knees, hips and spine for better health and balance in the body. This 15 hour course running every other Wednesday for 10 weeks is an opportunity to strengthen your understanding of the shapes we make in yogasana and how they overlay on our anatomy. We’ll look at commonly taught alignment techniques and compare it to our embodied experience.
Participants will: study anatomy of the feet, legs and pelvis practice and study a broad spectrum of standing postures study shape and experiencing standing postures studying different body shapes and how to adapt the postures learn techniques for teaching and practice learn variation of poses and alignment cover Yoga Sutras related to this study Classes run August 2, 16, 30, September 13, 27.
